State Coalition for Remediation of Drycleaners Site Profiles
Same Day Cleaners, Winter Haven, Florida
Description
|
Same Day Cleaners is an acitve PCE drycleaning facility that has been in operation since 1994. It is located in a shopping center in a mixed retail/commercial setting.
The identified contaminant source area is the soil beneath the facility floor slab in the vicinity of the drycleaning machine. Remediation Status: In groundwater monitoring |

Lessons Learned
Conventional soil sampling found only low concentrations of contaminants at the site. However, modified active soil gas sampling conducted during the assessment recovered soil gas samples with PCE concentrations as high as 9.2 milligrams/cubic meter. |
