Due to the ubiquitous nature of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in commonly used sampling materials and personal protective equipment, mitigating the risk of cross contamination can be challenging when planning and executing a PFAS sampling program. This paper describes a conservative approach to PFAS sampling and includes an evaluation of three insect repellent products to determine their suitability for use during PFAS investigation.
