Reclamation of mining sites is an interdisciplinary topic that deals with technical questions about soil, water resources, vegetation and wildlife, handling of contamination and brownfields, geotechnical safety, and geochemical processes in tipping, heaps, and tailings ponds. Specific features of legal, financial, and organizational issues are also recognized.
