The U.S. Department of the Interior is offering a one-time, competitive grant or grants that will fund radium decontamination and remediation of facilities located at any land-grant university that was contaminated by actions of the former U.S. Bureau of Mines. To be eligible, any receiving land-grant university must have been notified by federal or state agencies that such contamination exceeds allowable levels for radium.
