The principles of geochemical evolution may provide a new perspective for future in-depth studies regarding pollution control and risk management for mine tailings. Recent advances in recycling strategies with respect to metal recovery, agricultural fertilizer, and building materials are described. Phytoremediation technologies are discussed.
