The U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Center is seeking a contractor to support EPA's Targeted Brownfields Assessment Program by collecting test pits and soil borings at the Royal Electric Yard in Sykesville, Maryland, to assess any impacts from potential contaminants of concern. This work will be part of a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment to determine if the historical activities at the site or nearby properties have impacted the site. The Site is an approximately 4.1-acre parcel located adjacent to Sykesville's historic main street district. Major features include a warehouse, adjacent woodworking shed, gravel parking lot, and access road in the southern portion, and an unmaintained wooded area in the northern portion. Due to a pending sale of the site, the primary area of interest is limited to the northern half of the property. The site generally slopes to the south, with the wooded area alternating between relatively flat terraces and steeper slopes. A review of the Natural Resources Conservation Service National Cooperative Soil Survey shows that the site's soil primarily consists of silt-loam, loam, and complexes. The area just south of the warehouse is underlain by Glenville-urban land-Udorthents complex, which indicates the possible presence of fill. The expected period of performance is August 24 through December 1, 2026. OFFERS ARE DUE BY 1:00 PM EDT ON AUGUST 11, 2026.

NAICS: 562910. WHEN THIS SOLICITATION IS RELEASED SOMETIME IN AUGUST 2026, IT WILL BE COMPETED AS A TOTAL SMALL BUSINESSES SET-ASIDE. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio Engineer Division, seeks a contractor to provide environmental services for the excavation of contaminated soil and expansion of a bio-sparge system at the Tar Lake Superfund Site in Mancelona Township, Michigan. The project will involve excavation of approximately 172,500 tons of contaminated soil with temporary shoring, backfilling with clean imported soils, installing 45 new bio-sparge wells, and an approximately 160-square-foot pre-engineered structure to house the compressors. Ancillary activities include abandoning existing groundwater monitoring wells, installing new groundwater monitoring wells, installing erosion control measures, conducting a utility survey to locate existing bio-sparge system piping, confirmation soil sampling, and site restoration. The award will be a single firm-fixed-price contract through an Invitation for Bid (IFB). A bid bond is required. There is no solicitation at this time.
